So here I am, sitting on the balcony of my hotel room and decide now, while I'm in Hawaii, is the perfect time to start a blog. Go figure. Just gotta go back a couple of days to start at my arrival to the Big Island! I'll make a post for each day and start from the beginning, so without further ado, Hawaii Day 1.
We woke up at 5:30 am to catch our flight to LA. On the first plane, I finally watched Boyhood after all the good things I'm hearing about it (and my one friend who thought it was extremely overrated). It was the perfect plane movie-- a three hour movie that I could pause to my liking on a five hour flight. I enjoyed it so much that it even made my honorable mentions while I was putting together my best of all-things 2014 list.
After we got to LA, we had some down time to eat at an airport restaurant (I know, it was super ~fancy~) and it wasn't too bad! Time to get on our next flight to KONA, which means more movie watching time! This time around, it was 22 Jump Street, a fitting choice since Metropolitan City State University is actually the one and only Tulane! It was fun to pick out some of my friends as extras.
We arrived at the KONA airport, and even though it was 10 o'clock at night, I was already falling in love with Hawaii. Everything was outside (baggage claim, the taxi stand, etc.) and as soon as we got to our resort we found that it was the same story there! The resort honestly feels Disney-esque; there's even a train and/or boat you can take back to your room, and it is HUGE! I just remember going to bed feeling that I couldn't wait to see what Hawaii looked like during the daylight.
I'd like to conclude with this basic plane window picture that my sister Emily insisted on taking.
