Ranking the Year's Hot 100 #1s

I promise I haven't forgotten about my top ten list, but let's take a look about how the Hot 100 says music was this year. There were only ten singles that topped the chart in 2014, so let's put them in their rightful order, shall we?

Zip Zap Zop (Days 5 & 6)

What better way to celebrate Christmas than zip lining? We headed to Hilo, an area on the other side of the big island. It was pretty dead because of Christmas, but we explored some local markets and looked in some windows of closed shops. We arrived at the zip lining place pretty early, so we did this for a while, but finally it was time to drive up to the lines.

Lava-ing Hawaii (Day 4)

Christmas Eve is here, so that means it's time for a visit to Volcanoes National Park! We woke up a little earlier because we were in for a two hour drive across the island. After the ride, we finally arrived at the huge national park. The first thing we saw was this huge, smoking crater, where the lava originally flowed from. All over the Big Island, by the way, there is black lava rock covering the ground. It's like the island's dirt, so it was cool to see where some of it originally spewed from.

9. American Horror Story (Top 10 of 2014)

First of all, let's credit AHS for basically creating a genre. They made watching miniseries an actual thing, and inspired other similar concepts, like True Detective, which I haven't gotten around to yet, and Fargo, which I absolutely love. However, AHS edged out Fargo for a spot on this list and here's why.

10. Serial (Top 10 of 2014)

I have to admit, it took me a while to actually listen to this podcast. I just couldn't buy that lengthy audio-only episodes would be engaging enough to keep up with, but boy was I wrong. That's probably why I just now got around to it, but I only have to be halfway through the episodes to know that Serial is one of my favorite things of 2014.

Krazy Kona Koffee (Days 2 & 3)

Hawaii Day 2 was catch up on sleep day, so I decided to combine Days 2 & 3! Our first full day at Hawaii was beautiful, and I finally woke up at 10 to see the view outside of my balcony, and a pool right outside it.

Hawaii, I am in you! (Day 1)

So here I am, sitting on the balcony of my hotel room and decide now, while I'm in Hawaii, is the perfect time to start a blog. Go figure. Just gotta go back a couple of days to start at my arrival to the Big Island! I'll make a post for each day and start from the beginning, so without further ado, Hawaii Day 1.

Top 10 of 2014 - Honorable Mentions

I haven't seen/heard/consumed nearly enough pop culture this year to make individual top 10 lists for film, TV, music, etc, so I decided I would create an all encompassing top 10 list of everything entertainment, with each post highlighting a different selection! I'd like to start with some honorable mentions that didn't quite make the Top 10.
