Ranking the Films/TV Shows produced on Tulane's Campus!

Yes, maybe the hustle and bustle of the Hollywood South isn't THE reason to go to Tulane, but hey, it definitely doesn't hurt! As of late 2014, there were more films and TV shows in production in New Orleans than there were in Hollywood, and it continues to be a more hoppin' spot each year. Even if the setting isn't right at Tulane exactly, that doesn't stop Tulane students from running into celebs at Reily Center or the nearby Whole Foods! Without further ado, here's everything filmed on Tulane's campus in the 2010s, ranked:

6. Our Brand Is Crisis
This 2015 Sandra Bullock film was a bit of a disappointment at the box office and among critics, but our very own McAlister Auditorium was a key filming location in the movie, and who can't resist a great Sandra Bullock character?

5. So Undercover
There wasn't too much excitement over this little known straight-to-DVD 2011 film, but it does have a saving grace: a pre-wrecking ball Miley Cyrus! Cyrus, post "Can't be Tamed" but pre-infamous VMA moment, stars in the movie as a private investigator posing as a sorority girl on none other than Tulane's campus. Although it has a whopping 6% on Rotten Tomatoes, it's a guilty pleasure at times and our campus is overwhelmingly featured!

4. The Magicians
Not everyone has heard of this SyFy cult TV series, but Tulane's campus stars as Brakebills College for Magical Pedagogy-- pretty much Hogwarts, but college. Our very own Newcomb Hall makes a lot of appearances, but rather than housing the Liberal Arts College, it is home to some very mysterious magical juju. The Magicians' first season ended in April, but fans love it so much that it's coming back for a second season in 2017!

3. Treme
An HBO drama detailing the lives of New Orleans residents after Hurricane Katrina in 2005 also includes Tulane. John Goodman plays Professor Creighton Bernette, and although he wasn't a main character, some of Tulane's classrooms can be seen in parts of this critically acclaimed TV series.

2. Scream Queens
Fans are divided over the quality of Scream Queens, but I personally find it HILARIOUS. Ryan Murphy, creative mastermind behind Glee and American Horror Story, brings us a murder mystery satire taking place in a college sorority. Plus, the stars of the TV series will make any current college student nostalgic. To name a few-- Emma Roberts, Lea Michele, Jamie Lee Curtis, Abigail Breslin, Keke Palmer, Nick Jonas, Ariana Grande, and more. (It was a great time at Tulane for celeb selfies.) Buildings like the Lavin-Bernick Center for University Life and Gibson Hall were featured in almost every episode.

1. 22 Jump Street
Finally, probably the most high profile production ever filmed at Tulane is the comedy-action sequel to 21 Jump Street, where Channing Tatum and Jonah Hill star as undercover agents. This time, they're going to college. I'll never forget waking up as a freshman in Sharp Hall, looking out my window, and seeing the two stars filming a scene right on Monroe quad!
